One of the connecting infrastructures of Nusantara Capital City (IKN), the Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport (SAMS) Toll Road heading to Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) Toll Road, is designed as the first checkpoint to access IKN’s Central Government Core Area (KIPP) and will comprise 10 lanes. The project’s total length reached 7.01 kilometers with the tender conducted by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in 2022 with a contract value of Rp2,62 billion for the road technical planning package. Currently, the project is in the land acquisition phase with construction to start in 2024.
