President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has inaugurated the Makassar New Port in South Sulawesi. The Makassar New Port was developed as the old Makassar Port has optimized its capacity. The national strategic project was fully funded by Pelindo with Rp5.4 trillion investment and will further enhance in stages up to Rp10 trillion. Currently, approximately 30% of the activities have been transferred from the old port.
