The National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) drafted three policy directions in managing environmental damages and natural disasters. The first direction is to improve the quality of living environment, the second one is to mitigate natural and climate disasters and the third is to implement the low carbon development. Bappenas along with the World Bank, Central Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Finance have established the Indonesia Wealth Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services (I-WAVES) to support the Indonesian Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) System.
